    Yannick Dubé

Being a logger is not an easy living. Summers are hot and winters are cold, the land is not forgiving and the demands I have for my equipment means they either make me money or they make me lose money. I don’t lose money with my Eltec equipment and sometimes I just wish my other machines could do the same.

    Yannick Dubé, Logging Owner/Operator

    Yandro Briere

What I really like about working with Eltec is the level of service they provide for all aspects of my equipment. When we’re working and I need to solve an issue with one of my machines, being able to reach a technician with my first phone call means I don’t wait in a cue for answers. Keep in mind my fellers and bunchers are working 24/7. We only turn off our machines to fill them up with fuel or service them, so minimizing downtime is a priority.

    Yandro Briere, Logging Owner/Operator

    Joe Gagnon

I still have my first Eltec and it still runs everyday with just over 55,000 hours on it. I treat my equipment with a high degree of respect and keep my machines very clean by blowing them out daily and washing them completely down monthly. I’ve had other brands in the past, but they never performed like my Eltec machines have no matter how well I maintained them.

    Joe Gagnon, Logging Owner/Operator

    SL277B Overview

When the trees get bigger, so does the ELTEC 277 Series Shovel Logger, designed to meet the demands of a 7-day-a-week work schedule. Whether used for selective harvesting or final felling, this machine is powered by an industry-leading, fuel-efficient engine and an enhanced hydraulic system, tailored to the needs of forestry work.

The ELTEC 277 Series offers superior stability with its long wheelbase and additional counterweight. The boom system allows the operator to extend and retract the boom on a horizontal plane with ease, using a single joystick.

We manufacture the 277 Series with well-engineered structures and the highest quality materials available, ensuring a durable machine with an excellent capacity-to-weight ratio. It is available in either a harvester or buncher configuration, complete with boom and arm options tailored to customer requirements and dedicated hydraulics tuned for any head on the market today.

The soundproof and insulated cab is equipped with a highly adjustable heated seat with pneumatic suspension, and the full-height 32mm (1.25’’) polycarbonate window provides an unparalleled view of the work area. The cab also features a high-capacity, integrated HVAC system with multiple adjustable airflows for superior comfort. An audio system integration is also available, with optional/adjustable control configurations for connected and external devices.

The spacious engine compartment with steel catwalks is designed for easy service and maintenance. The hood is transformed into a platform for component service and maintenance, and the filtration system, batteries, and other critical components are all easily accessible.

Our clients can attest that the ELTEC 277 Series is a highly productive, reliable machine with great operator comfort and convenience.

    B-Series Modifications and Improvements

The Cummins L9 Stage V engine is the powerhouse behind our B-Series machines, providing a range of improvements including a wastegate turbo system, the elimination of EGR, and a single Diesel Exhaust Fluid/Selective Catalytic Reduction (DEF/SCR) system. These advancements reduce emissions and improve fuel efficiency compared to our lower tiered engine options.

The cab of the B-Series has been designed to maximize visibility, with three emergency exits for added safety and convenience. The geometry of the boom and stick has also been improved to accommodate Eltec’s proprietary hydraulic Flow Recovery System – FRSTM, while protecting the hydraulic hoses and fittings.

The central control system programming has been improved with presets and a more intuitive interface, making it easier for operators to customize settings to their preferences. The engine cap has been redesigned to reduce debris accumulation and prevent it from entering the engine compartment.

The engine compartment is spacious and equipped with steel catwalks for easy servicing and maintenance. Side-by-side hydraulic oil cooler, radiator, and charged air cooler plus AC condensers are located for fast and easy service access.

The combination of all these improvements to the B-Series machines and the Cummins L9 engine result in a very noticeable increase in fuel efficiency, which will vary depending on the operator, harvest method, and terrain.
